Merci (from French) is more common than the German-derived Merci villmools. 🇬🇧 English speakers: Many expressions differ from English patterns. 🇩🇪 German speakers: Some French influence: Merci (not Danke), Äddi (not Tschüss). 🇫🇷 French speakers: Merci and Äddi (from adieu) feel familiar.
