Délka rozhoduje: krátká → -er/-est (older, the biggest), dlouhá → more/most (more modern), na -y → -ier (happier). Nepravidelná: good→better→best, bad→worse→worst. Srovnání přes than: Prague is older than Brno. Superlativ vždy s the: the best café in town. Zdvojení: big→bigger.
