Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of PolyglotGym at polyglotgym.com and in the PolyglotGym apps (the "Service"). The Service is provided by Igor Polietaev, a private individual based in the Czech Republic ("we", "us"); no company or trade licence stands behind it yet, and nothing is sold. By creating an account you agree to these terms; guests who use the public content are bound only by Acceptable use and Intellectual property. Contact: [email protected].

The Service

PolyglotGym provides language-learning content and tools: CEFR courses, grammar explanations, vocabulary practice, dictionaries, audio, gamification, and optional AI-assisted features. Much of the content is free and public; some features require an account. Nothing is sold for money (see No paid features).

Accounts

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Guests can use the free public content without one.
• You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure.
• You are responsible for activity under your account that you allow, or that results from not keeping your credentials secure.
• You can delete your account at any time in settings; this removes your personal data per our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

• No scraping, bulk-downloading, or republishing course content.
• No attempts to bypass rate limits or access controls.
• No abusive, unlawful, or infringing activity on community features.
• Public discovery endpoints (sitemap, llms.txt, the public MCP endpoint) may be used by automated agents for read-only discovery within published rate limits.

No paid features

PolyglotGym does not sell anything for money at present: there is no subscription, no paid course and no purchase of credits, and we never ask for payment details. Gems and the daily AI replies are earned or granted inside the service and have no cash value. If paid features are introduced, these terms will be updated and the change announced before anything is offered for sale.

AI features

The trainer and mentor you chat with, conversation practice, writing feedback, and similar features are artificial intelligence, not a person. Their responses are generated automatically and can be wrong, incomplete, or unidiomatic - they are a practice aid, not professional language certification or advice. Do not share sensitive personal information in AI chats. AI usage is subject to fair-use credit limits. How your AI inputs are processed is described in our Privacy Policy.

Educational content

Some courses teach the language of real-life situations such as pregnancy, birth, healthcare, insurance, benefits or dealings with public offices. That content is language learning and general information, not medical, legal or financial advice, and it does not replace a doctor, midwife or the office that decides your case. Rules, amounts and deadlines change: facts marked ⓘ change often, so check them with the competent source before you act on them. In an emergency in the Czech Republic call 155 or 112.

Intellectual property

Course content, design, and software are owned by Igor Polietaev (PolyglotGym) or his licensors. You receive a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable license to use the Service for learning. Dictionary data derived from open sources (such as Wiktionary) remains subject to its original licenses.

What you post in community features (forum posts, club messages) stays yours. You give us a free, non-exclusive license to host and display it on the Service for as long as you keep it there, and you are responsible for having the right to post it.

Community content and moderation

Forum posts and club messages from new authors are checked by a person before they are published; we do not use automated moderation. We may remove content, or restrict an account, that breaks these terms or the law.

To report content you believe is illegal, write to [email protected] with the link and your reason; we confirm receipt and tell you what we decided. If we remove your content or restrict your account, we tell you why, and you can contest the decision by replying to that message. The same address is our point of contact for users and for authorities, in English or Czech.

Availability and liability

The Service is free of charge. We work to keep it available and correct, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or error-free content. Your statutory rights if the Service or its content is defective are not affected. We are liable for harm we cause in accordance with the applicable law. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under mandatory consumer protection law.

Termination

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and we tell you why (see Community content and moderation). You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

Changes

We may change these terms to a reasonable extent when the law, the features of the Service or its security require it. We announce every change in the product and, for account holders, by email at least 30 days before it takes effect; the date above shows the latest version. You may reject a change by deleting your account before then, at no cost to you. If you keep your account after that date, the new terms apply.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Czech law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts there. Please write to us first - most problems are solved by email. Consumers can also use out-of-court dispute resolution: the body competent for us is the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, adr.coi.cz).
