Days of the week, months, seasons — all lowercase in Spanish

Look at these examples. Can you spot the grammar pattern?
Hoy es miércoles, tres de mayo.
Today is Wednesday, May 3rd.
Los sábados voy al cine.
On Saturdays I go to the cinema.
En verano hace mucho calor.
In summer it's very hot.
Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?
Días de la semana (no se escriben con mayúscula):

Meses (también en minúscula): enero, febrero, marzo, abril, mayo, junio, julio, agosto, septiembre, octubre, noviembre, diciembre.
Estaciones: la primavera (spring), el verano (summer), el otoño (autumn), el invierno (winter).
Con artículo: El lunes tengo clase. (On Monday...) Los lunes trabajo. (On Mondays...) En enero hace frío. (In January...)

Today is Wednesday, May 3rd.
Days and months are NOT capitalized in Spanish. Dates use cardinal numbers: tres de mayo (not *tercero).
Los sábados voy al cine.
On Saturdays I go to the cinema.
'Los sábados' (plural article) = every Saturday / on Saturdays. 'El sábado' = this Saturday.
En verano hace mucho calor.
In summer it's very hot.
'En verano' = in summer. Seasons use 'en' (not 'in'). Weather: hacer + noun (hace calor).
