- Greet someone with the classic မင်္ဂလာပါ (mingalaba) — hello
- Introduce yourself with the correct speaker-gendered pronoun: ကျွန်တော့်နာမည် ... ပါ (male speaker) or ကျွန်မနာမည် ... ပါ (female speaker)
- Ask how someone is: နေကောင်းလား (ne kaung la?)
- Answer that you are well: နေကောင်းပါတယ် (ne kaung ba deh)
- Say a polite goodbye: သွားတော့မယ်နော် (thwa daw meh naw) and recognize the casual သွားမယ် (thwa meh)
