- Greet people and say goodbye (你好 nǐ hǎo, 再见 zàijiàn, 早上好 zǎoshang hǎo)
- Introduce yourself and say your name (我叫… wǒ jiào…, 我姓… wǒ xìng…)
- Ask someone's name (你叫什么名字？ nǐ jiào shénme míngzi?)
- Say where you are from (我是…人 wǒ shì…rén)
- Use the four tones correctly to distinguish meaning
- Count from 0 to 10 (零 líng to 十 shí)
- Use basic polite expressions (谢谢 xièxie, 不客气 bù kèqi, 对不起 duìbuqǐ)
