Until: sanam ar
The while/until split: sanam + verb vs sanam ar + verb, with the boundary-marking (not negating) ar.
I can set time boundaries with while- and until-clauses.

While vs until
სანამ + plain verb = while (სანამ ელოდები - while you wait); სანამ არ + verb = until (სანამ არ მოვა - until he comes). The არ here marks a time boundary, not negation - the action of the main clause runs up TO that point. Emphatic frame: მანამ..., სანამ არ...
English-style until without ar (*sanam mova) and reading sanam ar mova as 'while he doesn't come'.
Common Error Patterns
Omitting ar in until-clauses or reading it as real negation
