Georgian glues its 'prepositions' to the end of the noun: Tbilisi-shi = in Tbilisi.
I can say where things are and where I am going using -shi, -ze, -tan and -dan.
Look at these examples. Can you spot the grammar pattern?
ის თბილისში ცხოვრობს.
He lives in Tbilisi.
ყავა მაგიდაზეა.
The coffee is on the table.
მატარებელი ბათუმიდან მოდის.
The train comes from Batumi.
Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?
Where English puts a preposition before the noun, Georgian attaches a postposition to its end: -ში (in), -ზე (on), -თან (at/with someone), -დან (from), -მდე (until), -თვის (for).
So: თბილისი + -ში → თბილისში (in Tbilisi), მაგიდა + -ზე → მაგიდაზე (on the table), ბათუმი + -დან → ბათუმიდან (from Batumi). The final -ი of the noun drops before -ში/-ზე.
