After completing Module 1, you will be able to:
- Greet people appropriately in Japanese — use formal greetings like こんにちは (konnichiwa) and おはようございます (ohayou gozaimasu), and know when to use each one.
- Introduce yourself — state your name, nationality, and occupation using the pattern 「わたしは〜です」(watashi wa ~ desu).
- Ask someone's name and nationality — use questions like 「おなまえは?」(onamae wa?) and 「おくには?」(okuni wa?).
- Use basic numbers 1–10 — count from いち (1) to じゅう (10) in Japanese.
- Recognize and read basic hiragana characters — identify the hiragana used in common greetings and introductions.
- Use です (desu) to make simple statements — form polite sentences like 「がくせいです」(gakusei desu — I am a student).
