D'Zuelen vun 1 bis 20:

1 = eent6 = sechs11 = eelef16 = siechzéng
2 = zwee7 = siwen12 = zwielef17 = siwwenzéng
3 = dräi8 = aacht13 = dräizéng18 = uechtzéng
4 = véier9 = néng14 = véierzéng19 = nonzéng
5 = fënnef10 = zéng15 = fofzéng20 = zwanzeg

Zénger: 30=drësseg, 40=véierzeg, 50=fofzeg, 60=siechzeg, 70=siwwenzeg, 80=achtzeg, 90=nonzeg, 100=honnert.

Kombinéiert: Eener virun Zénger mat an: 21 = eenanzwanzeg, 35 = fënnefandrësseg.

Number reversal (ones before tens) is like German but challenges English/Russian speakers.

Common Error Patterns

Putting tens before ones

Ones come first: 25 = fënnefanzwanzeg (five-and-twenty), not *zwanzegfënnef

Ech sinn dräianzwanzeg Joer al.

I am twenty-three years old.

Numbers: ones before tens with 'an': dräi-an-zwanzeg = three-and-twenty.

D'Buch kascht fofzéng Euro.

The book costs fifteen euros.

Fofzéng = fifteen. Kascht = costs (3rd person of kaschten).

Mir sinn zwielef Leit.

We are twelve people.

Zwielef = twelve — note the Luxembourgish spelling differs from German zwölf.
