OsobaKrátká formaDlouhá forma
jámimně
tytitobě
onmujemu
onajíjí
mynámnám
vyvámvám
oni/onyjimjim

Kdy použít dlouhou formu: Na začátku věty (Mně se to líbí.), po předložce (ke mně), při důrazu (Tobě to dám, ne jemu.).

Kdy použít krátkou formu: Uvnitř věty bez důrazu: Dej mi to. Řekni mu pravdu. Krátká forma stojí na druhé pozici ve větě.

Ejercicios de práctica
Learners use long forms everywhere instead of short forms in unstressed positions, or place short forms incorrectly. 🇬🇧 English speakers: English 'me/him/her' doesn't distinguish stressed vs unstressed dative, so the short/long form system (mi vs mně) is confusing.

Patrones de errores comunes

Used long form where short form is expected or vice versa

Short forms (mi, ti, mu) go in unstressed mid-sentence position. Long forms (mně, tobě, jemu) at sentence start, after prepositions, or for emphasis.

Short pronoun placed in wrong position in the sentence

Czech clitics (mi, ti, mu, se, si) go in second position in the clause, after the first stressed word.

Dej mi tu knihu.

Give me that book.

Short form mi (unstressed, inside sentence). Dát + dative = give to someone.

Mně se to nelíbí.

I don't like it. (emphatic)

Long form mně at sentence start for emphasis. Líbit se + dative = to please someone.

Řekni mu, ať přijde.

Tell him to come.

Short form mu (him, dative). Říct + dative = tell someone.
