Ejercicios de práctica
Learners confuse k (dative, direction toward) with do (genitive, direction into) or na (accusative, direction onto). 🇬🇧 English speakers: English 'to' can translate to k, do, or na depending on context. Learners default to one preposition for all 'to' meanings.

Patrones de errores comunes

Used wrong case after a dative preposition (e.g., *k škola instead of k škole)

After k/ke, díky, kvůli, naproti — always use dative. Check the noun's dative form.

Chose wrong preposition (e.g., do instead of k for direction toward a person)

K/ke = toward a person/place (outside). Do = into (inside). Na = onto (surface). Choose based on the spatial relationship.

Jdu k lékaři.

I'm going to the doctor.

K + dative for direction toward a person. Lékař → lékaři (dative).

Díky vám jsem se to naučil.

Thanks to you I learned it.

Díky + dative pronoun (vám). Expresses gratitude or cause.

Škola je naproti nemocnici.

The school is opposite the hospital.

Naproti + dative for location across from something. Nemocnice → nemocnici.
