Genitive case: possession (-n), with postpositions
I can use genitive for possession, with postpositions, and for completed objects.
Nezze meg ezeket a peldakat. Felfedezi a nyelvtani mintat?
Tämä on Matin auto.
This is Matti's car.
Koiran nimi on Musti.
The dog's name is Musti.
Luin kirjan loppuun.
I read the book to the end.
Figyeljen a kiemelt reszekre. Mi a kozos bennuk?
Genetiivi
Genetiivin pääte on -n. Käyttö:
- Omistus: koiran nimi (the dog's name)
- Postpositioiden kanssa: talon edessä (in front of the house)
- Totaaliobjekti: Luin kirjan. (I read the book — completed)
Huom! Genetiivin vartalo voi erota nominatiivista (astevaihtelu): kirkko → kirkon.

Kirja → kirjan (genitive = completed object). Compare: luen kirjaa (partitive = still reading).
