By the end of this module
I can describe a house, a street and a summer that are gone: what there was, where it stood, what we did every day and how it all felt.
- Build the imperfect of any verb, and name the only three that are irregular: era, iba, veía.
- Use its three jobs on purpose: a habit that repeated, a scene that was going on, and age, weather or the time of day.
- Open a memory with antes, de pequeño, todos los veranos or mientras, and let the marker choose the tense for me.
- Say quiero but queremos, duermo but dormimos, and explain why the vowel breaks in one and not the other.
- Locate an event with ser and a building with estar: la verbena es en la plaza, el ayuntamiento está al lado de la iglesia.
- Use estar for a change I can see (¡qué mayor está tu nieto!) and for the fixed pair estar de vacaciones, estar de acuerdo.
- Choose hay to introduce something new and está to place something we both already know.
- Put all four together in one spoken paragraph about the place I grew up in.
