By the end of this module
I can follow spoken instructions in a health centre or a pharmacy, ask for what I need without sounding blunt, and give simple instructions back.
- Build the usted and ustedes commands from the yo form: pase, siéntese, tome, vengan, and the irregulars vaya, dé, sepa.
- Build the vosotros command, which is the easy one: infinitive minus the r, plus d: esperad, traedme, sentaos.
- Form the negative commands, which use a different set of endings altogether: no hables, no se mueva, no tiréis.
- Put pronouns where they belong: attached behind an affirmative command (póngasela, tráemelo) and in front of a negative one (no se la apriete).
- Write the accent that appears when the pronoun is attached, and explain why: súbase, úsela, tráeme.
- Hear the whole politeness scale and place myself on it: ponme, ¿me pone?, ¿me das?, ¿te importa...?, ¿le importaría...?
- Handle a Spanish queue: ¿quién es el último?, coger turno, guardar la vez, and refuse something with es que instead of a bare no.
