Module 4: What you will be able to do
- attach a कि clause to a verb, a noun or an adjective;
- drop कि in speech and keep it in writing;
- choose between के लिए with the infinitive and ताकि with a clause by counting the
actors, exactly as Russian does;
- use the subjunctive after ताकि and negate it with न;
- express apprehension: कहीं ऐसा न हो कि...;
- separate जैसा (agreeing) from जैसे (invariable) and build the correlative pairs;
- hear the difference between जैसे and मानो;
- tell the conjunction मानो from the imperative मान लो.
Russian covers most of this module. Four things are learned from scratch: the order
of a कि clause, the absence of an obligatory comma, the position of न in the
apprehension phrase, and the for-example sense of जैसे.
