Ich bin Student und ich bin zwanzig Jahre alt.
Nous sommes à Paris et nous avons un appartement.
Wir sind in Paris und wir haben eine Wohnung.
Tu as faim ? — Oui, j'ai très faim !
Hast du Hunger? — Ja, ich habe sehr großen Hunger!

Les verbes être (to be) et avoir (to have) sont les plus importants en français. Ils sont irréguliers.

Être s'utilise pour : identité (je suis Pierre), nationalité (elle est française), profession (il est médecin), description (tu es grand), lieu (nous sommes à Paris).
Avoir s'utilise pour : possession (j'ai un chat), âge (j'ai 20 ans), sensations (j'ai faim, j'ai froid).
Attention : En français, l'âge utilise avoir, pas être ! J'ai 20 ans (pas *je suis 20 ans).
Häufige Fehlermuster
Used être when avoir was needed or vice versa
Age = avoir (j'ai 20 ans). Sensations = avoir (j'ai faim). Identity/location = être.
Wrong form of être
je suis, tu es, il est, nous sommes, vous êtes, ils sont — memorize all forms.
Je suis étudiant et j'ai vingt ans.
Ich bin Student und ich bin zwanzig Jahre alt.
Être für Identität, avoir für Alter.
Nous sommes à Paris et nous avons un appartement.
Wir sind in Paris und wir haben eine Wohnung.
Être für Ort, avoir für Besitz.
Tu as faim ? — Oui, j'ai très faim !
Hast du Hunger? — Ja, ich habe sehr großen Hunger!
Avoir für Empfindungen: faim, soif, froid, chaud, sommeil, peur.
