Module 11: What you will be able to do
- match a Hindi proverb to its Russian pair rather than translating it;
- cut a proverb off the way speakers do;
- read the body map: where Hindi puts courage, honour, attachment and slander;
- render the Russian soul as दिल rather than आत्मा;
- recognise Bhojpuri and Haryanvi by the copula;
- tell a different variety from fast speech and ask for help accordingly;
- know that Awadhi and Braj have older literatures than the standard;
- take domestic dialogue and particles from films, and keep song vocabulary for
recognition only.
One distinction runs through the module: recognise or produce.
