Ang pag-uutos (imperative) sa Tagalog:

Kailan ginagamit ang pag-uutos?
- Mga utos: Tumayo ka. (Stand up.)
- Magalang na kahilingan (paki-): Pakidala ang tubig. (Please bring the water.)
- Mga panuto at recipe: Haluin ang asukal. (Mix the sugar.)
Mga halimbawang pangungusap
- Kumain ka na! — Eat now!
- Maupo ka. — Sit down.
- Pumunta ka rito. — Come here.
- Magbasa ka ng libro. — Read a book.
- Huwag kang mag-alala. — Don't worry.
- Maupo po kayo. — Please sit down. (polite)

Umupo = sit (imperative, -um- verb root). Ka = you.
Pakiabot ng baso.
Bitte reiche das Glas.
Paki- = please (polite prefix). Abot = reach/pass. Ng baso = the glass.
Huwag kang mag-alala!
Mach dir keine Sorgen!
Huwag = don't (prohibition). Ka + -ng linker. Mag-alala = worry.
