Look at these examples. Can you spot the grammar pattern?
This flat costs ten million.
His salary is a million a year.

Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?

| लाख | 1,00,000 - a hundred thousand |
| करोड़ | 1,00,00,000 - ten million |
| अरब | 1,00,00,00,000 - a billion |
After the first three digits, Indian grouping is in twos: 12,34,567 rather than 1,234,567. This is standard in newspapers, price tags and bank statements.
लखपति and करोड़पति are the words for wealth, and करोड़पति is in the title of the country's biggest game show.
