Ирээдүй цаг: -на/-но/-нэ/-нө

Маргааш би Дархан явна.
Tomorrow I will go to Darkhan.
Тэр их сургуульд орно.
He/she will enter university.
Бид ирэх сард уулзана.
We will meet next month.
Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?
Ирээдүй цаг (Future Tense)
The future uses the same -на/-но/-нэ/-нө suffix as present tense! Context (time words) distinguishes them. Маргааш (tomorrow) signals future.
- яв- → явна (goes / will go)
- Маргааш явна = Tomorrow (I) will go
Common Error Patterns
Expecting a separate future marker like English 'will'
Wrong vowel harmony in future/present suffix
Маргааш би Дархан явна.
Tomorrow I will go to Darkhan.
маргааш (tomorrow) + явна signals future despite same suffix as present.
Тэр их сургуульд орно.
He/she will enter university.
ор- (enter) + -но = орно (future/present, back vowel).
Бид ирэх сард уулзана.
We will meet next month.
ирэх сард (next month) + уулзана = future meeting.
