This is five thousand tugriks.
Гурван зуун хорин нэг хүн байна.
There are three hundred twenty-one people.
Нэг мянга, хоёр мянга, арван мянга.
One thousand, two thousand, ten thousand.
Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?
Зуу (100), хоёр зуу (200), гурван зуу (300), дөрвөн зуу (400), таван зуу (500), зургаан зуу (600), долоон зуу (700), найман зуу (800), есөн зуу (900), мянга (1000).
Тав зуун тавь = 550. Үнэ хэлэхэд: тав мянган төгрөг (5000 ₮).
Common Error Patterns
Putting units before hundreds (нэг зуу instead of зуун нэг for 101)
Forgetting linking -н in мянган when used attributively
Энэ тав мянган төгрөг.
This is five thousand tugriks.
Prices use noun + мянган (thousand) + төгрөг (tugrik).
Гурван зуун хорин нэг хүн байна.
There are three hundred twenty-one people.
Combine hundreds + tens + units: гурван зуун (300) + хорин (20) + нэг (1).
Нэг мянга, хоёр мянга, арван мянга.
One thousand, two thousand, ten thousand.
Мянга (1000) stays invariable; multiplier precedes it.
