Personal pronouns: eu, tu, el/ea, noi, voi, ei/ele
Can use Romanian personal pronouns

Eu sunt student și ea este profesoară.
I am a student and she is a teacher.
Ei locuiesc în București și ele lucrează în Cluj.
They (m.) live in Bucharest and they (f.) work in Cluj.
Dumneavoastră vorbiți românește?
Do you (formal) speak Romanian?
Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?
Romanian pronouns: eu, tu, el/ea, noi, voi, ei/ele. Formal: dumneavoastră.
Learners forget dumneavoastră and confuse ei/ele.
Common Error Patterns
Confusing ei (masc.) and ele (fem.)
ei = masculine/mixed, ele = all-female group.
Using tu instead of dumneavoastră
Use dumneavoastră with strangers, elders, officials.
Eu sunt student și ea este profesoară.
I am a student and she is a teacher.
'Eu' = I, 'ea' = she. Pronouns often dropped: 'Sunt student' also correct.
Ei locuiesc în București și ele lucrează în Cluj.
They (m.) live in Bucharest and they (f.) work in Cluj.
'Ei' = they (masc./mixed). 'Ele' = they (all-female). Romanian distinguishes!

Do you (formal) speak Romanian?
'Dumneavoastră' = formal you. Verb uses 2nd person plural conjugation.
