Look at these examples. Can you spot the grammar pattern?
Mula sa Maynila ako.
I'm from Manila.
Nasa loob ng bahay ang pusa.
The cat is inside the house.
Para sa iyo ang regalo.
The gift is for you.
Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?
Mga pang-ukol at direksyon sa Tagalog:
| sa = at/to/in | mula sa = from |
| para sa = for | tungkol sa = about |
| sa harap ng = in front of | sa likod ng = behind |
| sa tabi ng = beside | sa loob ng = inside |

Mula sa = from. Maynila = Manila. Ako = I.
Nasa loob ng bahay ang pusa.
The cat is inside the house.
Nasa loob ng = inside (of). Bahay = house. Ang pusa = the cat (topic).
Para sa iyo ang regalo.
The gift is for you.
Para sa = for. Iyo = you (sa form). Ang regalo = the gift (topic).
