Pilipino ka ba?
Are you Filipino?
Ano ang pangalan mo?
What is your name?
Saan ka nakatira?
Where do you live?
Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?
Ba ang pangunahing pananda ng tanong (yes/no):
- Pilipino ka ba? (Are you Filipino?)
- Kumain ka na ba? (Have you eaten?)
Mga salitang pananong:
| Ano = what | Sino = who |
| Saan = where | Kailan = when |
| Bakit = why | Paano = how |
| Ilan = how many | Magkano = how much |

Ba = question particle. Placed after the pronoun in yes/no questions.
Ano ang pangalan mo?
What is your name?
Ano = what. Ang pangalan = the name. Mo = your (ng form).
Saan ka nakatira?
Where do you live?
Saan = where. Ka = you. Nakatira = live/reside.
