Uzbek switched to Latin script and reads exactly as written. Learn four specials and you can read everything: o' (closed, rounded o: o'zbek), g' (deep gh: tog' - mountain), x (rough kh: xayr - bye), q (deep k: qahva), plus the digraphs sh, ch, ng.
Stress nearly always lands on the last syllable: salOM, rahmAT, oilA.
