After this module, you can...

• Name all 28 letters in order, and hear the difference between ع and ء, ق and ك, ط and ت - طين is clay, تين is figs
• Read Arabic without vowel marks, the way it is printed and texted, and type it with or without them
• Recognise Form II by its doubled middle letter and say who taught whom: عَلَّمَني أَبي الخَطَّ
• Recognise Form III by the ا after the first letter, and put the person straight after it: قابَلْتُ سامي, not قابَلْتُ مَعَ سامي
• Build a word family from one root - صَنَعَ، صانِع، مَصْنَع، مَصْنوع، صِناعة - and guess words you have never seen
• Buy something handmade in a souk and ask what it is made of
• Look back over the whole A1 course and check yourself against the mistakes most likely to return
