Modalverb 'können': können for ability and possibility
Learners conjugate both verbs: Ich kann schwimme instead of Ich kann schwimmen (infinitive at the end). 🇬🇧 English speakers: English speakers conjugate both verbs: 'Ich kann schwimme' instead of 'Ich kann schwimmen' — English 'can swim' uses bare infinitive but German needs the full infinitive.
