Bài tập thực hành
Forgetting the article with gustar (Me gusta *chocolate → Me gusta el chocolate). Also confusing when to use/omit articles with languages. 🇬🇧 English speakers: English uses 'the' much less than Spanish. They omit articles with abstract nouns ('I like chocolate' vs. 'Me gusta el chocolate') and body parts ('My head hurts' vs. 'Me duele la cabeza').

El gato está en la cocina.

The cat is in the kitchen.

'Gato' is masculine → el. 'Cocina' is feminine → la. Articles must agree in gender and number.

Me gusta el café.

I like coffee.

With gustar, Spanish REQUIRES the definite article: 'el café'. English says 'I like coffee' without 'the'.

Los niños juegan en el parque.

The children play in the park.

'Niños' is masculine plural → los. 'Parque' is masculine singular → el.
