Use with の to indicate relative position:

| 中 | なか | inside |
| 前 | まえ | in front of |
| 後ろ | うしろ | behind |
| 隣 | となり | next to |
| 間 | あいだ | between |
| 右 | みぎ | right |
| 左 | ひだり | left |
| 近く | ちかく | near |
Pattern: A の [position] に B が ある/いる。= B is [position] of A.
例: 机の上に本があります。= There's a book on the desk.
Forgetting の between the reference object and position word; Wrong particle (に for location, not で)
銀行は郵便局の隣にあります。
The bank is next to the post office.
銀行(ぎんこう, bank) + は + 郵便局(ゆうびんきょく, post office) + の + 隣(となり, next to) + に + あります
