がほしい — Wanting Things
Noun + がほしいです = I want [noun].
ほしい conjugates like an い-adjective: ほしくない (don't want), ほしかった (wanted), ほしくなかった (didn't want).

| Noun がほしいです | 新しい車がほしいです。 | I want a new car. |
| Noun がほしくないです | 何もほしくないです。 | I don't want anything. |
Compare: ほしい = want a THING; たい = want to DO something. 水がほしい (want water) vs 水を飲みたい (want to drink water).
Caution: Like たい, use ほしい only for YOUR desires. For third person: ほしがっている。
Using を instead of が (車をほしい× → 車がほしい○); Using ほしい for actions (use たい instead)
