Demonstratives: deze/die (de-words), dit/dat (het-words)
Can use deze/dit/die/dat correctly based on de/het and distance
Look at these examples. Can you spot the grammar pattern?
Dit is mijn huis en dat is jouw huis.
This is my house and that is your house.
Deze trein gaat naar Den Haag en die trein gaat naar Rotterdam.
This train goes to The Hague and that train goes to Rotterdam.
Die bloemen zijn mooi, maar deze zijn mooier.
Those flowers are beautiful, but these are more beautiful.
Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?
Aanwijzende voornaamwoorden verwijzen naar specifieke dingen:
