Practice Exercises
Confusing -er and -ar endings (como* instead of como for 'I eat' — actually correct! But comes* for 'tu' → comes). Using -ar endings with -er verbs. 🇬🇧 English speakers: Same challenge as -ar: must learn 5 forms. Good news: -er/-ir are almost identical.

Eu como arroz e feijão.

I eat rice and beans.

Comer → eu como. -er → -o for eu. Arroz e feijão is THE classic Brazilian dish.

Nós vivemos no Brasil.

We live in Brazil.

Viver → nós vivemos (-emos for -er verbs). Compare: nós abrimos (-imos for -ir verbs).

Eles abrem a porta.

They open the door.

Abrir → eles abrem. Same ending -em as -er verbs in 3rd plural. Only nós differs: abrimos.
