Pangatnig (Linker): Ang pang-uri at pangngalan ay ikinakabit ng -ng o na:

  • Kung ang pang-uri ay nagtatapos sa patinig: -ngmagandang bahay
  • Kung nagtatapos sa katinig: namabait na tao

Common Error Patterns

Using -ng after consonant or na after vowel

After vowel: -ng (magandang). After consonant: na (mabait na).

Good morning!

Maganda + -ng (linker after vowel) + umaga (morning). Very common greeting.

Mabait na tao si Maria.

Maria is a kind person.

Mabait + na (linker after consonant) + tao (person). Si marks proper noun.

Mainit ang panahon ngayon.

The weather is hot today.

Mainit = hot (ma- + init). Ang panahon = the weather (topic). Ngayon = today.
