Ang mga bata ay naglalaro.
The children are playing.
Maraming libro sa mesa.
There are many books on the table.
Gutom na ang mga aso.
The dogs are hungry.
Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?
Mga pangngalan (nouns) sa Tagalog ay walang kasarian (gender). Ang mga [maŋa] ang ginagamit para sa maramihan (plural):

| bahay → mga bahay | house → houses |
| aklat → mga aklat | book → books |
Tandaan: Mga ay binibigkas na [maŋa], hindi [ɛm-dʒi-ey].
