Reading poetry and older prose: postponed adjectives (lásko má), genitive before noun, and archaic verb-final order
I can read poetic and terminological postposition correctly and use inversion for deliberate effect.
Mira estos ejemplos. ¿Puedes identificar el patrón gramatical?
Byl lásky čas, jak praví Mácha v Máji.
It was the time of love, as Mácha says in May.
V atlase najdete vlka obecného i kočku domácí.
In the atlas you will find the grey wolf and the domestic cat.
Presta atención a las partes resaltadas. ¿Qué tienen en común?
Literární slovosled obrací běžné pořadí:
| Inverze | Příklad | Neutrálně |
|---|---|---|
| adjektivum za jménem | lásko má; čase nový | má lásko |
| genitiv vpředu | života běh | běh života |
| sloveso na konci | …když slunce zapadalo | (dnes neutrální i tak) |
| oslovení s inverzí | Vltavo, řeko stříbropěnná! |
Postpozice nese patos — Mácha: „Byl pozdní večer – první máj – večerní máj – byl lásky čas." V terminologii je ale postpozice neutrální: kyselina sírová, kočka domácí.
