The passive shifts focus from who does something to what is done: werden + Partizip II.

Conjugation:

| er/sie/es wird gefragt | sie/Sie werden gefragt |
Agent: von + Dativ (people) or durch + Akkusativ (means/causes). Common in formal German, news, instructions.
- Sein instead of werden: ✗ Das Haus ist gebaut (= state) → ✓ Das Haus wird gebaut (= process).
- Wrong Partizip: ✗ wird gegebt → ✓ wird gegeben.
- von/durch confusion: Von = agents (people); durch = means/instruments.
