Temporal connectors organize events: adverbs (verb position 2) and subordinating conjunctions (verb at end).
Adverbs:

| dann/danach | then/after that | Dann frühstücke ich. |
| schließlich | finally | Schließlich gehe ich. |
Subordinating conjunctions (verb at end): bevor (before), nachdem (after), während (while), bis (until), seit/seitdem (since).
Adverbs at position 1 cause inversion: Zuerst dusche ich.

Nachdem: haben at end. Main: trinken after comma.
Er liest, während er frühstückt.
He reads while he eats breakfast.
Während: frühstückt at the end.
