Das ist ein gutes Restaurant. Es ist teuer aber ausgezeichnet.

Elle est médecin. C'est une bonne médecin.

Sie ist Ärztin. Sie ist eine gute Ärztin.

C'est moi ! C'est Pierre.

Das bin ich! Das ist Pierre.

Achte auf die hervorgehobenen Teile. Was haben sie gemeinsam?

Deux constructions souvent confondues :

C'est / Ce sontIl est / Elle est
+ nom (avec article) : C'est un professeur.+ adjectif : Il est grand.
+ nom propre : C'est Marie.+ profession (sans article) : Il est professeur.
+ pronom tonique : C'est moi.+ nationalité (adj) : Elle est française.
+ adjectif (idée générale) : C'est bon !+ heure : Il est trois heures.

Règle simple :

  • C'est + article/déterminant + nom : C'est un bon livre.
  • Il/Elle est + adjectif seul : Il est intéressant.

Using c'est where il est is needed and vice versa; adding article with il est + profession. 🇬🇧 English speakers: English uses 'he is' for everything. The c'est/il est split is confusing.

Häufige Fehlermuster

Wrong choice between c'est and il est

C'est + article + noun (C'est un professeur). Il est + adjective alone (Il est français). Il est + profession without article (Il est professeur).

C'est un bon restaurant. Il est cher mais il est excellent.

Das ist ein gutes Restaurant. Es ist teuer aber ausgezeichnet.

C'est + Nominalphrase. Il est + Adjektiv.

Elle est médecin. C'est une bonne médecin.

Sie ist Ärztin. Sie ist eine gute Ärztin.

Beruf allein: il/elle est. Mit Attribut: c'est un(e).

C'est moi ! C'est Pierre.

Das bin ich! Das ist Pierre.

C'est zur Identifikation: Namen und Pronomen.
