Italian numbers from 0 to 20 have to be learned as words; after that, the system is as regular as English.

Note the switch at 17: from 11 to 16 the unit comes first (tre-dici, "three-ten"), from 17 the ten comes first (dicias-sette, "ten-seven"), like English "thirteen" against "twenty-one".
Tens: 20 venti, 30 trenta, 40 quaranta, 50 cinquanta, 60 sessanta, 70 settanta, 80 ottanta, 90 novanta, 100 cento.
Compounds are written as one word, ten first: ventidue (22), trentacinque (35), sessantasette (67). Two things to watch:
Above a hundred: centoventi (120), duecento (200), mille (1,000), duemila (2,000). Italian writes a full stop or a space where English writes a comma, and a comma for the decimal point: 2.500 euro, 1,5 litri.

Ordinals are adjectives and agree with the noun: il primo giorno, la prima volta - the first time, il terzo piano - the third floor. The small raised ° (masculine) or ª (feminine) is the Italian "st / nd / rd".
Where English says "the twenty-fifth of December", Italian says "the twenty-five": il 25 dicembre (il venticinque dicembre), Christmas Day. The one exception is the first of the month: il primo maggio, Labour Day, and il primo gennaio. Italy's national day, il 2 giugno, is il due giugno.
Age uses avere: Ho ventun anni. - I'm twenty-one (ventuno usually drops its -o before a noun).
