Affirmative and negative agreement: también (also) and tampoco (neither)
Can agree and disagree using también and tampoco
Look at these examples. Can you spot the grammar pattern?
A mí también.
— I like chocolate. — Me too.
Yo tampoco.
— I don't have a car. — Me neither.
También hablo un poco de francés.
I also speak a little French.
Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?
También = also/too (affirmative). Tampoco = neither/not either (negative).

| — Hablo español. — Yo también. | — No hablo francés. — Yo tampoco. |
Regla: También con frases afirmativas. Tampoco con frases negativas. No mezclar: *Yo también no → Yo tampoco.

También for agreeing with affirmative statements. 'A mí también' = me too.
Yo tampoco.
— I don't have a car. — Me neither.
Tampoco for agreeing with negative statements. NOT *'Yo también no'.
