Common time adverbs in Hebrew: today, tomorrow, yesterday, now, always, never
Can use common time adverbs to describe when actions occur
Look at these examples. Can you spot the grammar pattern?
אני תמיד שותה קפה בבוקר.
I always drink coffee in the morning.
אני אף פעם לא אוכל בשר.
I never eat meat.
אתמול הלכתי לסרט, מחר אלך לים.
Yesterday I went to a movie, tomorrow I'll go to the beach.
Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?

תארי זמן בדרך כלל באים בתחילת המשפט או אחרי הפועל. לעולם לא / אף פעם לא מופיעים לפני הפועל.

Practice ExercisesPlacing אף פעם after the verb (*אני אוכל אף פעם בשר instead of אני אף פעם לא אוכל בשר). Forgetting לא with אף פעם. Confusing כבר (already) with עוד (still/yet).
Used אף פעם without לא, or placed the negation after the verb
Always use אף פעם לא together, before the verb: אני אף פעם לא + verb.
Placed time adverb in wrong position (e.g., verb-final instead of pre-verbal)
Frequency adverbs (תמיד, לפעמים, אף פעם לא) go before the verb. Point-in-time adverbs (היום, מחר, אתמול) can open the sentence.
אני תמיד שותה קפה בבוקר.
I always drink coffee in the morning.
תמיד (always) sits between subject and verb — common position for frequency adverbs.
אני אף פעם לא אוכל בשר.
I never eat meat.
אף פעם לא = never. Note: לא must follow אף פעם, and both come BEFORE the verb.
אתמול הלכתי לסרט, מחר אלך לים.
Yesterday I went to a movie, tomorrow I'll go to the beach.
אתמול (yesterday) + past tense; מחר (tomorrow) + future tense. Time adverbs guide tense choice.
