Mi jefa quiere que empecemos la reunión a las ocho, pero yo prefiero llegar antes.

My boss wants us to start the meeting at eight, but I'd rather get there earlier.

Ojalá haga bueno el domingo: hemos quedado para ir a la playa.

I hope the weather's good on Sunday: we've arranged to go to the beach.

Que aproveche. — Gracias, que tengas buena tarde.

Enjoy your meal. — Thanks, have a good afternoon.

— yo quiero, yo voy.

The single-subject rule is the one to internalise: *'Quiero que voy' and *'Quiero que ir' are both wrong; it is either 'Quiero ir' or 'Quiero que vayas'. Also, 'decir que' takes the indicative when it reports information ('Dice que viene') and the subjunctive when it gives an order ('Dice que vengas'). 🇺🇦 Ukrainian speakers: Same with щоб. What Ukrainian does NOT have is a special verb form: щоб + past tense becomes que + a genuinely different conjugation, so the endings still have to be learned.

Mi jefa quiere que empecemos la reunión a las ocho, pero yo prefiero llegar antes.

My boss wants us to start the meeting at eight, but I'd rather get there earlier.

Two subjects (jefa / nosotros) force the subjunctive; one subject (yo / yo) takes the infinitive. Both patterns in one sentence.

Ojalá haga bueno el domingo: hemos quedado para ir a la playa.

I hope the weather's good on Sunday: we've arranged to go to the beach.

Ojalá takes the subjunctive directly, with no main verb and no 'que'. Hacer → haga.

Que aproveche. — Gracias, que tengas buena tarde.

Enjoy your meal. — Thanks, have a good afternoon.

Everyday formulas that are subjunctives in disguise: the wishing verb (espero, deseo) is simply left unsaid.
