Los verbos terminados en -ir son el tercer grupo. En presente, son casi iguales a los verbos -er, con solo dos diferencias:

Las únicas diferencias entre -er y -ir en presente son: nosotros (-emos vs. -imos) y vosotros (-éis vs. -ís).
Verbos -ir frecuentes: vivir (to live), escribir (to write), abrir (to open), recibir (to receive), subir (to go up), decidir (to decide), compartir (to share).
The only difference between -er and -ir in present tense is nosotros (-emos vs -imos) and vosotros (-éis vs -ís). Learners often use -er endings for -ir verbs in these two forms.
Vivo en Madrid.
I live in Madrid.
vivir → yo vivo: stem viv- + -o. Same -o ending as -ar and -er verbs.
Escribimos una carta.
We write a letter.
escribir → nosotros escribimos: stem escrib- + -imos (NOT -emos — this is where -ir differs from -er).
¿A qué hora abres la tienda?
What time do you open the shop?
abrir → tú abres: stem abr- + -es. In the tú form, -ir and -er verbs use the same ending.
