Slovesa vnímání s infinitivem a jak
After vidět/slyšet/cítit: the accusative + infinitive pattern (slyším ho zpívat) and the jak clause alternative
I can describe what I see and hear with both the infinitive and jak patterns.
Look at these examples. Can you spot the grammar pattern?
Slyšeli jsme zvony svatého Víta bít poledne.
We heard the bells of St Vitus strike noon.
From the window I watched the children flying kites on the hill.
Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?
- Nominative instead of accusative: *Slyšel jsem on zpívat → ho zpívat
Common Error Patterns
