She decided not to wake her brother, in order to save the Sunday peace.
Ich rate, ihm zu folgen - oder: Ich rate ihm, zu folgen. Das Komma entscheidet, wer folgt.
'I advise following him' - or: 'I advise him to obey.' The comma decides who follows.

Klassiker der Doppeldeutigkeit: Ich rate ihm zu folgen - ohne Komma unklar, wem gefolgt wird: Ich rate, ihm zu folgen (folgt ihm!) vs Ich rate ihm, zu folgen (er soll folgen). Der Gedankenstrich ersetzt das Komma für dramatische Pausen - sparsam dosieren.
