I can tell standard Hindi from a regional variety and follow the difference
Look at these examples. Can you spot the grammar pattern?
का हाल बा?
How are you? (Bhojpuri)
मानक हिंदी में यह 'क्या हाल है' होगा।
In standard Hindi that would be 'kya haal hai'.
वह घर पर भोजपुरी बोलता है।
He speaks Bhojpuri at home.
Pay attention to the highlighted parts. What do they have in common?
Modern standard Hindi is based on खड़ी बोली, the speech of the Delhi region. The other varieties are not corruptions of it; several have older literary traditions than the standard does.

Different auxiliaries (बा and हउवे in Bhojpuri where standard has है), different pronouns, and a different vowel colour. The grammar you have learned still carries you a long way.
Speakers switch: standard at work, dialect at home. Treating a dialect form as a mistake is both wrong and impolite.
