Verb Aspect
Every Polish verb has an aspect: imperfective (ongoing) or perfective (completed).

| czytać | przeczytać | to read |
Perfective verbs have no present tense — their 'present' form = future!
Learners use perfective for habits. Perfective 'present' form = future meaning.
Piszę list.
I'm writing a letter. (right now)
Piszę list — imperfective, action in progress.
Napiszę list.
I will write the letter. (complete it)
Napiszę list — perfective 'present' form = future meaning. The letter will be finished.
Czytam codziennie.
I read every day.
Czytam codziennie — imperfective for habitual action. *Przeczytam codziennie* is wrong.
