7. pád (instrumentál) odpovídá na otázku kým? čím? a vyjadřuje prostředek, nástroj nebo společnost.

Hlavní použití: 1) S/se + instrumentál = společnost: s kamarádem (with a friend). 2) Nástroj/prostředek: Píšu tužkou. (I write with a pencil.) 3) Po slovese být pro profesi: Je učitelem. (He is a teacher.)
Häufige Fehlermuster
Wrong instrumental ending for the noun's declension pattern
M/N take -em (studentem, městem). F žena-type takes -ou (ženou). F růže/kost-type takes -í (růží, kostí).
Used wrong case where instrumental is required (e.g., after být for professions)
Instrumental is required: after s/se (with), for tools without preposition, after být for professions, for means of transport.
