La costruzione stare + gerundio esprime un'azione in corso, come l'inglese 'to be + -ing'.
Formazione del gerundio:

Gerundi irregolari: fare → facendo, bere → bevendo, dire → dicendo.
Attenzione: In italiano il gerundio progressivo si usa MENO che in inglese. Non si usa per azioni future o abituali: Domani parto (NOT *Sto partendo domani).
Häufige Fehlermuster
Using stare + gerundio for future or habitual actions (English interference)
Stare + gerundio = RIGHT NOW only. For future: use present or future tense (Domani parto, NOT *Sto partendo domani). For habits: use present (Mangio sempre..., NOT *Sto sempre mangiando...).
Wrong gerund form (-ando/-endo confusion or irregular form error)
-are → -ando (parlando, mangiando). -ere → -endo (leggendo, scrivendo). -ire → -endo (dormendo, finendo). Irregulars: fare→facendo, bere→bevendo, dire→dicendo.
Sto mangiando una pizza adesso.
I am eating pizza right now.
